Whitlock Consulting Group (WCG) was founded in 2013 in response to the industry’s need for a higher value-add consulting and advisory service that focuses on identifying, measuring, and delivering customer enhancement and operational improvements.

Our expertise has been built through providing services for needs assessments, software selection, and implementation assistance projects that are specifically molded around each client’s core processes, needs, business objectives, and strategic vision, enabling those clients to be intentional and strategic in their path forward.

Rob co-founded WCG in 2013 after seeing that there was a need to challenge the status-quo of utility consulting. The goal was to provide a tailored, hands-on, higher value-added consulting and advisory service using an innovative and process-driven approach.

Rob has spent his entire career, almost four decades, in the utility software industry and has multiple performance awards to his credit. He has worked with and is well-versed in the pain points of utilities of all types and sizes throughout the country.

Rob is a critical asset for contract / SOW development and negotiations, identifying and mitigating project risks, maintaining stakeholder approval, and seeing projects through to successful completion. Given Rob’s career-long industry experience, he carries broad expertise and a professional network across the full spectrum of market-leading utility software providers. His many years of management experience have given him professional leadership skills, including team development, assessment, and motivation. Rob brings this rich leadership history to any project with which he is involved.

Michael Whitlock

Founding Partner

As a co-founder of WCG, Michael has played an integral role in establishing our process-driven selection and implementation methodology. Michael has an innate ability to quickly understand our client’s business processes and improvement opportunities, then translate them into value-driving initiatives.

On WCG projects, Michael has led strategic analyses, process design, requirements development, configuration assistance, and system implementation and integration for CIS & Billing, MDM/AMI, MWM, Financials, AP/Purchasing/Inventory, and WAM.

Michael earned both his BS in Finance & Entrepreneurial Management and his International MBA from the University of South Carolina. Before founding WCG, Michael worked in management consulting and corporate strategy for several Fortune 100 companies from which he has been able to apply best practices into WCG’s project methodology.

Matt Barton

Matt is a recognized leader in the private and public sector with over 20 years of experience as an IT professional in strategic planning, project management, cybersecurity, business analysis, product development, product lifecycle management, enterprise architecture, system integration, and procurement. He has the unique ability to understand and translate the business and technical needs of each team, enabling utilities to find the most effective and sustainable solution.

Before WCG, Matt served as the Chief Information Officer for Oregon’s largest publicly owned electric and water utility. During his time as CIO, he developed a 10-year Information Services Strategic Plan and the supporting Technical Application Roadmap. He led transformative efforts, built effective teams, and positively redefined how business processes were implemented and integrations were architected.

Matt earned his Master of Business Administration & Management from Northwest Christian University. He also has his Project Management Professional (PMP) Certification from the Project Management Institute.

Chris Floyd

Sr. Partner

Hilton Head, SC

Chris is a proven, instrumental resource in leading project teams through complex system implementation projects. He has strong attention to detail, effective communication ability, deep process and system knowledge, and the ability to lead vendor and client teams alike to successful Go-Live.

Along with managing the day-to-day project requirements, Chris also brings valuable experience in leading system configuration decisions, system and process testing, issue tracking and validation, and change management. He has been pivotal in completing multiple successful end-to-end implementations for CIS, CSS, ERP, and MWM applications.

Before WCG, Chris developed a career in Corporate Finance and Mergers & Acquisitions where he assisted with several multi-million-dollar acquisitions and sales. It was through these projects that he initially honed his project management skills while also building an extensive knowledge of various business operations, technologies, and process / system transition techniques. Chris earned his BS in Finance & International Business from the University of South Carolina.

Michael Saysomsack

Sr. Project Manager

Michael is an experienced ERP professional with extensive knowledge in advanced technology systems, business requirements gathering, business process analysis, cloud technologies and services, project management, status reporting, and executive reporting. He is a PMI-certified Project Management Professional (PMP) with an incredible ability to create and maintain relationships. His business acumen and systems knowledge skillset facilitate the ability to align business and technical aspects.

Michael has helped deliver multiple end-to-end implementations in the roles of Project Manager and Implementation Consultant. This rich experience allows for meaningful project leadership, calculated testing, and effective training with an eye towards project management directives, milestones, and deliverables.

Michael studied Business Information Technology Management at the British Columbia Institute of Technology.

Sarah Warth

Sr. Consultant

Rochester, MN

Sarah is an experienced business intelligence and change management professional with a cross-functional understanding. She has a passion for innovative problem solving, process improvement, testing management, training administration, generating analytic insights, and strategy and thought leadership. Sarah possesses a rare combination of business acumen, domain and technical knowledge, data analytics, and interpersonal skills that enable the ability to effectively bridge the gap as a business and technical liaison.

Before WCG, Sarah gained valued utility experience and perspective while assisting with change management, prioritization, configuration, administration, testing, end-user training, and documentation for end-to-end implementation of Cayenta CIS, Cognos Analytics, Smart Energy Water CSS, Utilitec, and Paymentus. She also developed 250 SQL reports using billing & revenue, credit & collections, consumption, field services, and customer data.

Sarah earned her BA in Economics & Mathematics, with minors in Statistics & Finance, from St. Olaf College. She also has a Master of Business Analytics (MBAn) from Iowa State University and a Graduate Certificate in Training & Development from Winona State University. To bolster her knowledge and WCG’s OCM offering, Sarah is also a Prosci Certified Change Practioner.

Dustin Keith

Sr. Consultant

Flagstaff, AZ

Dustin has strong experience in project management, subcontractor management and oversight, and contract and statement of work development and evaluation. He started his career in financial auditing and corporate compliance and then developed into project management and vendor oversight. He brings unrivaled attention to detail, best practices, and deep process and financial expertise to his projects. He also brings valuable experience developing project specifications, aligning company processes with business objectives, and acting as a facilitator of teams supporting critical problem-solving.

Before WCG, Dustin built a career working as a Project Manager and Auditor for several multinational companies and state agencies in Germany, France, and the United States. He has experience across various industries, including the public sector, energy, infrastructure, automotive, and industrial machinery. Dustin managed vendor contracts, led project teams, successfully delivered valuable process and bottom-line improvements, increased operational efficiency, and conducted training.

Dustin earned his BS in Accounting & Computer Science from the University of South Carolina.

Sowmya Bagusetty

Sowmya has extensive experience in business analysis, process/solution mapping, and delivering software implementations. She has a proven track record of leading cross-functional teams and acting as a liaison between IT and business partners.

Before WCG, Sowmya worked as a Business Analyst in the telecom, automotive, and healthcare industries providing process improvement, cross-functional solution design, training, and data analytics. With WCG, Sowmya collaborates on selection and implementation projects, supporting and leading the project team through business requirements gathering, solution design, testing leadership, and end-user training.

Sowmya earned her International MBA, along with a Graduate Certificate in Business Analytics, from the University of South Carolina. She also has a Bachelor’s in Electronics and Telecommunication.

Frances Nordin

Sr. Implementation Consultant

Toronto, Canada

Frances has nearly two decades of experience as an IT consultant and business analyst in a solution and results-driven environment. She is skilled in leading business process gathering and identifying opportunities for operational and technical improvements. She is well-versed and experienced with reporting and interface requirements, documenting key values that are translated into requirements, and planning the design and solutions to meet these requirements. Frances is a valuable liaison to project stakeholders as she encourages collaboration and ensures the completion of the project scope. Specific project tasks have included system configuration, optimizing solutions to incorporate business needs, delivering business intelligence solutions, leading system testing and issue resolution, and conducting end-user training.

Before WCG, Frances served as a Technology Consultant, Business Analyst, and Programmer for several multinational companies across the utility, finance, and manufacturing sectors.

Frances earned her BA in Computer Science from the University of the Philippines. She also completed certification as an SAP Certified Application Associate on Business Intelligence with SAP Netweaver 7.0.

Tiffany Luna

Sr. Implementation Consultant

Vancouver, Canada

Tiffany has spent her entire career working with utilities, municipalities, and manufacturing companies to improve their everyday business processes by delivering critical system improvements and replacements. Focusing on the full end-to-end software implementation lifecycle, Tiffany has valuable experience delivering business best practices, exhaustive system testing, effective end-user training, and documentation creation for each project. Throughout this process, she helps empower businesses and employees to take ownership of the product and gain the knowledge and confidence to thrive as they move forward.

Tiffany brings experience delivering cloud-based, on-prem, and hybrid solutions with a full understanding of both the technical and functional effects of each deployment methodology. She is an exceptional communicator allowing her to be the most effective advocate for both front-line workers and executive-level management alike. Similarly, her technical expertise paired with her interpersonal skills enables her to act as an invaluable bridge between the technical consultants and the operational end-user.

Tiffany earned her Bachelor of Commerce with Honours from McMaster University, Canada.

Geetha Ganesan

Geetha is a results-oriented professional with over 20 years of experience in the utility industry focused on utilizing technology to refine business operations and enhance end-user satisfaction. She is a trusted advisor driven to provide support in utility system implementations and integrations including CIS, AMI, MDM, OMS, WMS, and Mobile/Field Work integrations.

Geetha successfully leads cross-functional teams in end-to-end implementations across various solutions, focusing on requirements gathering, process design and optimization, system integration, testing and training support, and go-live planning and stabilization. She also helps define strategic plans and multi-year roadmaps for IT and business initiatives.

Geetha has experience working in roles such as a software engineer, business analyst, project manager, and solution architect within utilities, software vendors, system integrators, and consulting. She earned her Bachelor of Electrical & Electronics Engineering from the University of Madras, India.
